The global VOIP user base, both business and personal is expanding at a huge rate. However, in its semi-annual Internet threat assessment report released in September, Symantec have announced that VOIP networks are the next big target for Hackers, Phishers, spammers and the like.

Glen Fest believes that Banks will be particularly targeted.

Glootix claim to be offering the first encrypted VOIP service in Europe. Not very much info on the site, and they only offer pre-registration by the looks of it.

Denial-of-service attacks against VoIP systems are still the biggest security threat,
according to experts. Beyond that, other frequently mentioned risks, like eavesdropping
and voice spam, are not much more than hype.
